A user over on KVR (thanks maxim.srpl) spotted a problem when starting up Synth1 Librarian, where there was a long delay because the server couldn’t be contacted to do a version check. The latest version fixes that issue.
If you’re enjoying using Synth1 Librarian, please make a donation (it all goes to charity).

Hi, it might be a problem with my hosting provider. However, the plugin should continue working as normal.
If that’s not the case, please do let me know.

Below is the exact message I’m getting. It is able to find the zip files and start unpacking them, the green progress bar gets very near the very end, but then it times out. Then when I take a look inside Synth1 Librarian, there’s nothing there under the buttons. Running Windows 10 whatever the latest is.

10/17/2019 2:06 PM – This request operation sent to net.pipe://localhost/NeutrinoSky.Synth1.Librarian.Core/LibraryService did not receive a reply within the configured timeout (00:10:00). The time allotted to this operation may have been a portion of a longer timeout. This may be because the service is still processing the operation or because the service was unable to send a reply message. Please consider increasing the operation timeout (by casting the channel/proxy to IContextChannel and setting the OperationTimeout property) and ensure that the service is able to connect to the client.

Ah, ignore my previous comment in that case. Seems you’ve got quite a sizable zip collection? The Librarian aborted after 10 minutes of processing, to prevent your DAW from being locked up.
Quick test:
1) Try keeping only 10 files in your zip folder (move the others to a separate folder)
2) Re-run the build process
If Synth1 Librarian processes those files without errors, your original zip collection is too big to handle. See if you can reduce the zip files, and try again.
In the future, I’ll make the 10 minute timeout a configurable setting (which should help this kind of scenario)

Yes, with a lot fewer zip banks it worked. I will try adding back a few at a time. It may also have been that one of my banks was corrupt and couldn’t be unzipped and that was hanging it up or something. Thanks so much for your support and all of your effort creating this!

You are very welcome.
Next month I’m donating all contributions for Synth1 Librarian to charity. TBH, I haven’t received much this year :(.
So if you find Synth1 Librarian really useful, may I ask that you contribute? The link’s in the “Support this project” tab 🙂

Hello…I have contributed in the past and in response to your last message will contribute again today. It’s a worthy project.
I’m writing because I have a fair bit of trouble with the libraries getting built each time I add the Librarian. I’ll try reducing the number of patches in that folder and see how it goes. But just for interests’ sake here’s the list of events I see generated. Thanks again for an extremely useful tool.

Could you follow the steps listed here, and I’ll try to help you resolve this.

Hi! I will be grateful if anyone can help me with a problem.
I managed to install Synth1 and Synth1 Library. However, when I click “Show/Hide Synth” in Librarian, Synth1 does not open. Instead, it just opens a small red box with an X in the middle. If I click on any sounds in the Library, they don’t get sent to Synth1. What could be happening?
neutrino.sky - December 23, 2021
It seems like Synth1 Librarian can’t find the Synth1 DLL.
The only advice I can offer: watch the install video, and try to follow the steps with your own DAW:

Watch all the way to the end, because there are some tips on what to do if things don’t work as expected.
